✱✱Book Review✱✱ Cici's Protector (Never Too Late for Love Romantic Suspense Collection 2) by Janie Crouch & Regan Black

Griff Fowler left his career as a cop after a tragedy he couldn’t shake. Now nearly fifty, he’s a Guardian Agency protector. His job is to shield and to safeguard. And he does whatever it takes to get that job done.

So going undercover at a resort in Key West to help take down a drug dealer is business as usual for him.

What isn’t business as usual? The resort’s spa manager Cici Malone and her haunted brown eyes.

She’s caught in the middle of this mess since the police have asked her to help identify who’s behind the deadly drug. She doesn’t know Griff’s real purpose for being here.

But she does know the hunky silver fox has caught her attention in a way no one has in years. She learned the hard way that men can’t be trusted, but finally feels willing to give passion another shot.
But when the danger amps up and the truth comes out, everything changes. Griff will have to find a way to protect the woman who’s come to mean so much to him while proving his feelings for her are genuine.

An instant attraction they can't resist. Combine that with characters around my own age, including a sexy silver fox, and this Never Too Late for Love romantic suspense was practically made for me. Cici and Griff have an almost magnetic pull between them, and their story has just the right amount of suspense and tension for this quick read. Things move quickly, and the book is easily read in a couple of hours, so it's perfect for the beautiful weekend weather we've had. I don't get the island scenic view, but it made for a nice companion as I relaxed on the porch and enjoyed the sunshine. If you haven't read these Never Too Late for Love books, I highly recommend them. It isn't often that I find stories with characters my age finding love. These books are certainly a nice reminder.

✱✱Book Review✱✱ Debra's Protector (Never Too Late For Love Romantic Suspense Collection 2) by Janie Crouch & Regan Black

Your past will find you, even on an island paradise...

At forty-six, Debra Wheeler is thriving in her dream job as the manager for the Ellington Cove resort in Key West. Brick by painful brick, she’s built a life she can finally be proud of.

But when an old acquaintance blackmails her--demanding access to the resort guests’ valuables--protecting herself means revealing her worst mistakes to the resort’s special security team.

Including sexy silver fox Wes Slater.

As the new face in town, Wes is uniquely equipped to help Debra with an undercover operation to bring down the criminals. He’s got the military and security background to handle it.

Even if fifty feels too damned old to pretend to be someone's
boyfriend—he’s about to become a grandfather for God’s sake. But he’ll do whatever it takes to help prove the innocence of the gentle beauty he can’t get out his head.

When the danger turns deadly and the fake relationship turns into very real feelings, two people who thought passion had already passed them by will find it's never too late for love.

...if they can stay alive long enough to enjoy it.

Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sexy silver fox! If Janie Crouch and Regan Black didn't already have me hooked with these Never Too Late for Love books, those three words would've won me over. And Wes isn't just the everyday silver fox. Nope, he's faced danger before, and he's prepared to do it again. That makes him perfect for helping solve Debra's problem. Of course, we all know what happens with fake relationships, right? These two have loads of chemistry, and they're so good together. We do get plenty of intrigue and danger as they try to lure the baddies out of hiding. My favorite thing about these books is the when you know, you know romance that blooms for these characters who aren't the same age as my children. It's nice to have a reminder that we're never too old for romantic love. The books in this collection are also quick reads that are perfect for curling up on the porch swing and enjoying the warmer weather while you fall in love with each couple.

✱✱Book Review✱✱ Gabby's Protector (Never Too Late For Love Romantic Suspense Collection 2) by Janie Crouch & Regan Black

After a heart-shattering tragedy, Tony Marino bottled up his emotions and gave more than twenty hard years to the SEAL teams. Now, he’s enjoying a later in life career in paradise in the Ellington Cove special security office.

The best part? Working with their research expert, Gabby Ladd.

Eager for a fresh start, Gabby jumped at the offer to join the team in Key West, certain the location was out of reach of the dangerous stalker who ruined her Army career and forced her into hiding.

But she’s been found.

Determined to protect her new friends and the honorable men she works with from the stalker who has killed before, she knows running is the only option.

Tony’s not about to let anyone drive Gabby away. To keep her safe, to keep her close, he must let go of the painful past, open his heart, and let himself hope for the future.

Because it’s never too late for love…

Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Whether you're looking for a beach read or an exciting romantic suspense to get lost in for an afternoon or evening, this latest addition to the Never Too Late for Love Romantic Suspense Collection is a good choice. It's fast-paced with a good combination of action, danger, and some steamy goodness. Tony and Gabby are likable characters, and they each come with some baggage. Of course, I'd have been more surprised at a lack of baggage given their ages, and the things that happened in their pasts are believable. I love these quick reads that are both entertaining and engaging. These little reminders that passion and new love aren't only for the young give me a combination of heart-racing danger and a romance that leaves me with a smile. Janie Crouch and Regan Black have done it again, and I can't wait to see what's next in this series of standalones.

✱✱Book Review✱✱ Angela's Protector (Never Too Late For Love Romantic Suspense Collection 2) by Janie Crouch & Regan Black

Angela Mixon never thought she’d find herself starting over at 50 years old, but if she has to do it, working on an island paradise seems like a great choice.

She’s ready to focus on her role as Ellington Cove’s head of human resources and take time to re-center after escaping an impossible personal situation. A chance to finally find some peace.

Until a disgruntled employee targets her in a murderous rage.

Retired SEAL Nick Walters took the Ellington Cove security team job as a chance to reset and figure out what he was going to do with the second half of his life. He’s used to being alone. No need to try to teach this old dog new tricks—solitary is how he operates.

Except that the island’s prim new executive has caught his attention in ways he never expected. She’s feeling vulnerable about the changes age has brought on her body, but that’s not a turn off to him at all. The opposite in fact.

And when Angela finds herself in danger’s path, Nick steps up as her self-appointed bodyguard—determined to protect her, no matter the cost.

Neither of them came to the island expecting to find someone perfect for them. They thought it was too late.

But it’s never too late for love.

Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Like the other Never Too Late for Love books, Angela's Protector moves very quickly, which is great for getting your romantic suspense fix before real life invades. What this one lacks in pages, it makes up for in romance and action. Angela and Nick are so good together, and it's always nice to have a reminder that passionate love can get us at any age. These two are around my age, and their romance gave me a smile. The story is just the right amount of steamy mixed with danger and action. So, Janie and Regan have co-written a fast-paced, midlife romantic suspense that keeps the pages turning right to the end. I guess that makes the book-length a good thing because these "bite-size stories" are pretty hard to put down. If you're looking for a refreshing later-in-life romance, the Never Too Late for Love Romantic Suspense collections is a good way to go. I know I'm already ready for the next in the collection because I can't get enough of them.

✱✱Book Review✱✱ MONTANA FREEDOM by Josie Jade & Janie Crouch

Daniel Clark is the leader. The one who ensures everyone makes it out alive.

He took that responsibility seriously when he and his team served in the Navy SEALs together, and he takes it seriously now at the Resting Warrior Ranch.

When he and his men broke up the
Riders—the vicious dogfighting gang who also kept some human captives—they got everyone to safety.

Except for the woman who’d been caged—Emma. She disappeared into the night.

So when she shows up in his tiny Montana town—in bad physical shape, begging not to be taken to the hospital—Daniel can’t believe it. He does the only thing he can: brings her home.

He’s a warrior, not a caregiver, but he’ll have to be
both in this case. The people after her don’t just want to put her in a cage this time. They want her dead.

But if they want to get to Emma, they’re going to have to go through Daniel. And that’s not going to happen.

Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

There is a serious lot happening in the less than 300 pages of Montana Freedom. It's suspenseful, it's intense, it's full of action and danger, and there's still time for romance! Seriously, once I started reading, there was no stopping. It's that intense. Plus, Daniel and Emma may just be my favorite Resting Warrior Ranch couple, and that's really saying something considering how I've felt about the first five. Found family is one of my favorite elements of this series, and the way these characters sacrifice for each other is something we could all use in our lives (even when we don't live with the danger these characters do). So, if you like a fast-moving romantic suspense, characters you can fall in love with - except the bad guys, of course - some danger, and some steamy goodness, The Resting Warrior Ranch series is one to read, and Montana Freedom is jam-packed with all of the above.
