Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ah, Thomas and Helena - both terribly broken by their pasts, surviving day to day, and just so darn perfect for each other. If you're familiar with the Fatal Dreams series, you know to expect instant and impossible to ignore attraction between the characters. So, it's kind of instalove, but not, and the paranormal aspect makes it work. In this case, neither of them understand it, but there's a deep connection and being together causes some big changes in both of them. On the romance side of this tale, Abbie Roads gives us a love story you just can't help but root for. It's sensual without being explicit, and the healing, both physical and of the soul, is shown perfectly. Then we have the thriller/suspense element with a twisted bad guy, someone looking for revenge, and a spectacular twist to bring it all together. The only drawback for me is that this one felt a little rushed, but overall, it's a great addition to a terrific series. The series is dark, but there's also hope and the power of true love between soulmates.

I love a good draw you in and keep you guessing psychological thriller. Sadly, this isn't it. There is a mystery here, but it's buried beneath a mountain of business deals and family turmoil. I found the story to be convoluted and the characters not very likable. Larkin is a mess from the beginning and for someone who is supposed to be running a company, it seems that everyone and every thing around her is running her. Some scenes make little sense and feel disjointed, and when things get intimate between Larkin and her love interest, it felt stilted and forced. I've heard great things about this book, so maybe it's just a matter of this not being the book for me, maybe it's that I couldn't connect to any of the characters, or maybe a little of both. For whatever reason, this story clearly missed the mark for me.

Momma Says: 2 stars⭐⭐

A solid idea with a lackluster execution. The story is surprisingly light considering the subject matter - not so light as to be considered a RomCom, but pretty light nonetheless. That, I could've been okay with, but from start to finish, I couldn't escape the similarities to the television show. The storyline and characters are more simplistic than the show, but the sexy playboy persona, the deal maker, a good-hearted human who may be Lucian's downfall or saviour, depending on how you look at it, the nightclub - it's all there. All of that aside, I didn't find these characters particularly likable, and the story just didn't pull me in. It's a fairly quick read, so I did finish it, but it isn't something that I would reach for again or that I would think of to recommend.

Momma Says: 3 stars⭐⭐⭐

Saving Sarah is an entertaining, sweet romance with a mystery to solve. Finch are Sarah are both troubled by things in their past and floundering about where their lives are going. Finch has become a bit of a loner, and Sarah lives through the memories and stories of her patients. While I did enjoy the read, it felt a bit rushed at times and the mystery, once we get the answers had me scratching my head. I don't understand why Eleanor didn't just tell her story rather than sending Finch and Sarah to find the answers. I did like Sarah's progression to forgiving herself for past mistakes and figuring out what she should be doing with her life. She and Finch were good together and we get the added bonus of Sarah's sweet Golden, Lucky to help brighten the mood.
