Henrik and Lou are the perfect pair for a Valentine's Day romance. Henrik may be a grumpy recluse, but not where Lou's concerned. He's the biggest sweetheart with her, and she needs that in the worst way. I love how patient he is with Lou, even when she pushes him away or avoids him. Lou's situation is super emotional. As a mother, my heart broke for her. I also did a fair amount of cheering for her as the people of Kentbury worked their magic with sincere welcomes and generosity. The story moves pretty quickly, and it's easily read in an afternoon or evening. It makes a great bedtime read, especially if you prefer to go off to dreamland with a swoony sweetheart on your mind. I don't know what else is planned for Kentbury, but I hope Claudia Burgoa has more visits in mind because there's just something about this small town and its residents.

I've been looking forward to this book for what seems like forever. Technically, it hasn't been quite that long, but the more the duo that makes up Poppy Ireland teased this one, the more I knew I had to read it. And it does not disappoint. The Fae world they've created is totally fascinating, and the characters run the gamut. We have the heroine, the sexy anti-hero, the quirky best friend, the evil mastermind, the family... the list goes on, but I don't want to give too much away. Anyway, all these terrific characters are put into an academy setting where even the secrets have secrets. The twists just keep coming, and when you think you know what's what, you really don't. So, just dive in and enjoy the adventure. I know I did. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I can't even find it in me to get mad over that cliffy. It's a whopper, and I'll be spending the next few weeks wondering how Poppy Ireland is gonna get out of this one.

Dirty Twisted Lord is perfectly named, and I don't care to admit that there were elements in this one that pushed my limits more than they've been pushed in a while. Of course, all three books in this trilogy have pushed limits, and it was no surprise that Jordan Grant saved this one for the big finale. I did like this couple the best, shocking my limits or no. The ending is everything you'd expect from this author and this series and then some. If you like dark and twisted with a side of taboo, then this is the trilogy to check out.

Holy Moly! This is one dark and twisted academy romance. I would definitely advise heeding the warnings on this one because it gets pretty disturbing. That said, if you're looking for dark and disturbing, Jordan Grant has you covered with Saint and Willow. Well, mostly Saint, but he isn't the only twisted character at Chryseum Reformatory Academy - not that I can go into details on that without getting into spoiler territory. I have to hand it to Grant; I don't think I've seen this particular kind of academy romance, and she doesn't seem to mind pushing the limits - or should I say pushing the reader's limits. The book is very well written, and the pacing and flow keep the pages turning. So, check those warnings, and if you get past that point and are still game, dive in and prepare for an intense story from start to finish.
