It's nice to be back with Bears Hockey - this time with single dad Nate and nanny Carly. Obviously, there's a kiddo who needs a nanny, 7-year-old Quinn. And here's where I go ahead and say that the story may be about Nate and Carly falling in love, but Quinn is the scene-stealer. These three are so good together, which makes it pretty easy to root for their happy ever after. The story is everything I expect from Kelly Jamieson. I know I'm gonna get a romance filled with chemistry and steamy goodness, and in the case of a series, I get at least a little look at past favorites. I don't want to give too much of the storyline away, but I like that some of the stigma surrounding learning disorders are addressed as well as gender roles and expectations. In fact, I loved one scene, in particular, involving Quinn's school and conflict - it brought back memories of a similar real-life scene at my own daughter's school back when the same ideas weren't popular. So, we have a single dad/nanny romance along with some sexy hockey players and another hard-to-put-down story by Kelly Jamieson.

Guard is the first book I've read by Ellie Pond, and I don't know how I've missed her. The story was a lot of fun, and I like the world introduced in this series. At first, I kind of felt like things were moving slowly, but I think it was just me getting the gist of the Dark Moon Rising world. I do appreciate that the author doesn't bog the story down with info dumps but builds the world organically as the story progresses. Once I settled in, I was completely taken with this world and these characters. Flint and Emma are a combination of engaging and amusing, and boy, do the sparks fly between them (in more ways than one). Flint has so much trouble getting comfortable in his own skin, and Emma is just a mess with her luck. I love the push and pull between them as they go between banter, disagreement, and magnetic attraction. The story is well-written, and the characters are interesting and engaging. This may be my first read by Ellie Pond, but it won't be my last, and I'll be on the lookout for the next in this series.

Holy Melting Kindle! Royally Indecent is a slow burn, but when these three get together, it's hot enough to set the curtains on fire. I don't read a lot of royal romance these days, but I do read all the Kelly Jamieson I can get my hands on, so away I went, and this throuple pulled me in and kept me turning pages. We get everything I've come to expect from this author - wit and humor, loads of chemistry, a good combination of sweet and sexy, and characters you can't help but root for. Seriously, these characters are so good together. Chelsea is just learning to spread her wings, and what better way to do that than with two (yes, two!) guys who treat her like royalty even though she isn't the one with the title. She's naive and rather innocent, but she has a determination and strength about her that is to be envied. Then there's Griffin and Ford, and I really don't know which I fell for the hardest. They're both so totally lovable. One of my favorite things about this book is that Kelly Jamieson didn't shy away from the hard stuff. There's plenty of steamy goodness, but we see the drawbacks to this type of relationship too - explaining it to family and hoping they'll understand or at least try to, dealing with the outside world, how news of the relationship will affect careers... The list goes on, and while the author couldn't give us everything, or it could have gotten pretty lengthy, we do get a feel for a lot of it. So, it's an emotional romance, but even with the angst, it's light enough for a weekend by the pool. I haven't read any of the author's earlier throuple romances, but after this one, I'll certainly be going back to take a gander.
