Redwood

Linear Tactical #11

by Janie Crouch

Gavin Zimmerman. Military codename: REDWOOD. This former Special Forces soldier will protect Oak Creek from any threat.

Even one that comes in the form of a delicate blonde with haunted eyes.

A tiny town in Wyoming and the fake ID in her pocket are Lexi Adam’s last chance. She's used her all her resources to escape the danger that hounds her. A danger the whole world would agree she brought on herself.

She just wants a chance to start over, to rest for a moment, but the town's upstanding and oh so sexy sheriff is determined to get to the truth behind her lies.

Even if it gets them both killed.

Momma Says: 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I'm always excited to read a book by Janie Crouch, and when it's a Linear Tactical story, so much the better. I've become so invested in the Linear Tactical family, and I've been waiting for Gavin's turn. Naturally, the stoic, do it by the book Redwood would get a love interest who may not be walking the right side of the line. Lexi was introduced in another book by this author, but if you haven't read that one, you won't be lost here. That's the beauty of Janie's books. A lot are interconnected, but she gives the reader enough to follow the story. That's not to say you won't want to meet the rest of these terrific characters once you've met any of them because you definitely will! Anyway, back to Gavin and Lexi. I'll admit that I wasn't quite sure about how this couple was going to work out. They seem like night and day, but the more they were together, the more I wanted them together. Of course, we get a fair bit of danger to go with the romance, and even if you figure out where the danger is coming from, it's still a gripping story - exactly what I expect from this author. This one is a romantic suspense novel, and we get plenty of that, but it's also a story about redemption, family, forgiveness, and hope. All in all, another great story in the series, and I can't wait to see what's next.
