At one point in this series, I made a comment that this was Maya Hughes' way of squeezing our hearts until they bleed. From start to finish, this trilogy is that emotional. Bay and Dare kept me on pins and needles, feeling everything right along with them. There were times when I wanted to shake one or the other of them and times when I wanted to knock their heads together, but the one constant was that I wanted these two to be a couple. They're just that good together. I have raved about this trilogy from the beginning, and waiting for each installment wasn't easy - they weren't spaced out too terribly far, but it was long enough. Now that they're all here, I highly recommend a few days curled up in your favorite chair, binge reading the whole thing because once you start, you won't be able to stop.

Kissing her was a mistake. It was supposed to be the period at the end of the sentence, closing the book on this attraction between us. I’d thought maybe she’d slap me or shove me away. 

Instead, she’d met my lips with her own uncontainable desire. I’d pressed my hand against the small of her back and held her face to mine. Staring into her eyes, I knew it wasn’t the end of anything. 

I’d dropped a lit match into a warehouse of fireworks, and all I had was a garden hose to fight this fire.

Maya Hughes, that's me!, can often be found sneaking in another chapter while hiding in the bathroom from her kids! :-) I'm a romance writer who loves taking inspiration from everyday life, namely my husband and biggest fan. Inspiration also strikes when I hear a song, meet someone new or daydream while at soccer practice.

I love writing stories that capture the possibilities of the paths less travelled and enjoy experiencing life through my characters’ eyes.
