Deep Breaths is a multi-layered title. It’s named for the breathing exercises used to alleviate symptoms of asthma attacks, of which the hero of my story suffers with. It’s also painfully ironic because it’s so damn hard to breathe when your lungs won’t allow you to. It’s also romantic, because have you ever met someone who simply took your breath away?

Don’t Sugar Coat it comes from a joke between my husband and I after his diagnosis. It was a bit of a shock and we were both numb. My husband ordered a cake from his hospital menu and was telling me what he’d ordered for lunch. I blurted out, ‘Don’t Sugar Coat it.’ We laughed so much. It was just what we needed and I knew that would be the title of my book as soon as I conceived the concept of the anthology.

"Worth The Risk" came about because of the challenges involved in having a relationship with someone when one party is HIV positive and the other isn't. It just seemed to fit perfectly. I also wanted to showcase the immense progress made in treating HIV and how those living with the virus are now able to live full and happy lives. What a triumph of science and the indomitable human spirit.

I’ll be honest and admit that when writing this story, I didn’t have a particular title in mind. Faith No More actually came to me midway through, when I was immersed in the fact that so many sufferers of PTSD lose their faith in everything when then they’re stuck in this constant loop of past and present. This anthology is incredibly important to me, as is this story. It’s vital we continue to raise awareness and show that everyone struggles, no matter how they appear to the outside world, no matter how big or small their suffering may seem. We’re all human, and sometimes it’s hard to keep the Faith.

It wasn't too hard really to come up with the title of my story. I wanted to make the story light hearted. It fits perfectly with the story as well.

My title is called “The Heart of The Matter” Since I was writing about a heart defect, and the story shows what really matters when two people fall in love, it just made sense to call it that.

I have tied my anthology story to my R.I.S.C. Series. Each book in that series has “Risk” in the title. Because my hero’s diagnosis is so unexpected, I decided to name it “Unexpected Risk”.

I decided to write about Narcolepsy. My hero is Jack. He’s spent his life being laughed at and teased for a condition he cannot control, so when he meets the alluring Felicity, he tries to hide a part of him she might just end up falling in love with...

I wanted to write about adult ADHD and its strain and impact. My title is inspired by a song by Lady Gaga that my husband and I love. As an advocate for mental health it only seemed fitting. These characters are flawed but perfectly imperfect.

I wanted to write this story to help the readers not to view these so called flaws as a hindrance. These characters will show that perfection is in the eye of the beholder.

My title! Boy, that was a struggle! I don't know, it just kind of popped in the head when I was having a bath one night. (I get all my good ideas either ironing or in the tub). I hadn't even written the end on the manuscript, but the title did give me the perfect way to finish it.

Lexxie Couper

One of the symptoms of Parkinson's disease is the shakes, the trembles. In romance, the word 'tremble' is usually associated with a physical response to heightened desire. I wanted to play on the dual nature of the word, when one of the characters experiencing heightened desire can also be trembling for other reasons. That is why I chose it for my title.
