✱✱Audio Book Review✱✱ Evie Interrupted by Alison G. Bailey

Evie Interrupted
By: Alison G. Bailey
Narrated by: Laura Jennings
Publisher: OrangeSky Audio

Ben said he loved me, lusted after me, and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. From the very beginning, I was honest with him about my complicated life. He promised me the only thing that mattered was our love. I thought the future was set until...

"Evie, I can't do us anymore."

The day Ben walked away was the day my love life went on permanent hiatus. Men were a distraction that I didn't want or need until...

Tall, dark, and handsome ex-pro-football player Butler Thompson entered the picture and interrupted my heart.

Momma Says: 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The blurb for Evie Interrupted barely scratches the surface of what this book is about. There's the romantic love that we can deduce from the blurb - You can't meet Butler without falling at least a little in love. There's also the love of family, the love and devotion between a mother and daughter, and the love between friends. It's the story of Evie and how she's so much more than any one thing, but the most important thing is her role as caregiver, which is also the part that touched me the most. This book couldn't have come into my life at a better time. My situation isn't anywhere near the circumstances of Evie's, but there were so many things I could relate to. Needless to say, there's a lot of emotion in this one, but it's not all angsty. Alison G Bailey blends the good and the bad perfectly. Moments of angst are tempered with well-timed wit and levity. What it boils down to is the emotions run the gamut in Evie Interrupted, and I felt every single one, sometimes several on the same page.
I was lucky enough to listen to this book, and Laura Jennings was a terrific choice to give voice to these characters. Every emotion, be it a bit of humor or a moment worthy of tears, comes through loud and clear. The combination of talented writing and talented performance made this book and its characters something I won't soon forget. It's the kind of story that stays with you long after the last word's been read - or spoken as the case may be.
