There is no way in and no way out. And there is a killer in the midst.
At an Aspen ski resort, vacation plans are drastically changed when the body of Lauren Crusher is found in her room. With the ongoing blizzard, everyone is shut in, including the killer.
Since backup is unable to come to Lieutenant Davis’ aid, he must utilize his deducting skills to get to the bottom of the mystery.
With The Naked Eye, Angela Kay gives us everything that goes into a gripping murder mystery and packs it into a quick read that keeps us guessing from page one. The story opens with a dead body, a locked room, and lots of questions. Everyone is a suspect, and the motives run the gamut with everything from jealousy to greed and secrets that some don't want revealed. Add in that this group is stuck in a cabin, and there's a snowstorm raging outside making roads impassable. That leaves Lieutenant Davis to figure out the answers on his own - Is is murder or some kind of accident? With lots of red herrings and a great twist, this one kept me turning pages. The book is easily read in one sitting while still giving us the great writing and mystery of a full length novel from this author.
