Bear Heat is a solid start to a promising series from Becca Fanning. This time we get the excitement of firefighters and the twisty politics behind the scenes. Oh, and romance! It wouldn't be a Becca Fanning shifter story without some sexy romance. Sam and Brooke are instantly drawn to one another even if Brooke doesn't quite understand it as a human. They've both worked hard to achieve their dreams, but they're about to find out that dreams can sometimes change when we find something that means even more to us. This first book in the series focuses on Sam and Brooke, but there's also a bit of danger and mystery as well as what appears to be a continuing story arc concerning the politics of The Forest and those behind the scenes. This one is a quick, entertaining read, and I'll be interested to see what's next for the series.
