✱✱ Book Review ✱✱ Deadly Partnership: Murder, Blackmail and Voices from the Spirit World by Richard Gardner

I curled up with Richard Gardner's Deadly Partnership today and it was the perfect read for this cold and dreary day.

On his retirement, widower Paul Jenkins decides to live with his sister by the sea. But having moved in, the idyllic life that he has been hankering after is thrown into turmoil when he comes face to face with a burglar in the middle of the night.

His impulsive reaction to the intrusion has disturbing consequences when he is confronted with some unsavoury characters. However, it is the dead that he has far more to fear from.

Momma Says: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

When I read the blurb for this one, I was reasonably sure that I knew the direction this tale would take. In part, I was right, but only in part. My interest was piqued from the first chapter and that interest grew steadily as the story played out. From one shocking incident to the next, Gardner paints a picture of narcissistic sociopath. Instead of asking whodunit, you're asking yourself who will be next. With lots of secrets and twists, Deadly Partnership is certainly a page turner and the supernatural element adds an intriguing element. I realize that I'm being vague with this one, but almost any detail would give spoilers and this shocking tale should be read spoiler free.
