Bitten By Design
Regent's Park Pack Book 2
by Annabelle Jacobs

When the last thing you want, is everything you need….

Seb Calloway isn’t interested in shifters. After his best friend bonded with one, he avoids getting involved with them—no matter how hot they are—to prevent the same thing from happening to him. Why take the risk for a few hours of fun?

Tim Walters is the pack doctor. Considered to be mild-mannered and non-threatening by pack standards, he prides himself on being able to stay calm and maintain his control at all times. Desperate for a bond of his own, he knows his interest in Seb is an exercise in futility, but he can’t seem to help himself.

When news emerges that threatens Seb’s safety, he and Tim need to fake a relationship to keep Seb safe. Despite Seb’s refusal to be anything other than friends with benefits, what starts out as pretend, quickly becomes more—for Tim at least. If Tim doesn't want to end up heartbroken, he needs to prove to Seb that loving a shifter doesn’t mean losing himself.

Momma Says: 3 stars⭐⭐⭐

This one picks up where the first book in the series left off and this time, we get Seb and the sexy pack doctor, Tim. This second book is a bit more of a slow burn in the romance department, but there is definite chemistry and these two are hot, hot, hot together. We get more about bonding among shifters and I really like the author's take on it and how it all works. There's also a bit of danger, which forces Seb and Tim into a fake relationship, and of course, we all know how those turn out. The fake romance trope has been a little overdone lately, but the story is fresh and that added bit of danger spices things up. My issue with this one is Seb. I didn't care much for him in the first book, but considering his response to Tim in the first book, I really hoped for a lighter side of him here. Instead, he's rather hard to like and even harder to root for as he continuously shows what a jerk he can be. For a lot of this one, I wanted to shake the frustrating Seb until his teeth rattled. And Tim, I absolutely loved Tim, but at the same time, I kept thinking he needed to man up and stop being such a doormat with Seb. Things do eventually come together, and I did start to root for this pair's happiness, but for me it was a little too long getting there. However, the danger and suspense were good, and I'll be interested to see where that goes in the next book.
