✱✱Book Review✱✱ My Sister is Missing by Julia Barrett

My Sister is Missing
by Julia Barrett

I'm not the wife you think I am

Just weeks after giving birth, new mum Stephanie Henderson and her baby girl disappear.
With husband Adam in despair, and the police investigation stalled, it's up to her sister Jess to find them. But when Adam starts to behave suspiciously, Jess starts to question what really happened.
Following news of a tragic accident, she suspects the worst and, in turmoil, goes in search of answers. But Jess isn t prepared for what she uncovers . . . or for what happens next.
This is a twisted psychological thriller that will make you question what is real, and whether you really can trust those you love.

Momma Says: 3 stars⭐⭐⭐

I'm on the fence about this one. Steph and Jess make for an interesting story about the bond between sisters and their past is heartbreaking and disturbing, although the twists associated with that past aren't hard to figure out ahead of time. The story did hold my interest, but there are some lags in the middle, and the second half of the story gets unnecessarily repetitive. There are a number of things going on at once as the story bounces from character to character, and while those things do tie in eventually, the storyline seems disjointed at times. Finally, as far as what's claimed in the blurb, I can't say that I found anything about this one particularly thrilling, psychologically or otherwise. It is dramatic and the dynamic between Jess and Steph, such as it is in this story, made for an interesting enough read, but it is a little too easy to set aside for something else. In the end, there were things I liked and things that I didn't, and it all came together into just an okay read for me.
