This second book in the Pride series continues the story of El and her men. While the first book was packed with action and danger, this one continues the danger, but the action is quieter. It's still there, but it's more subtle as this group works to figure out the aftermath of that jaw-dropping cliffy from the first book. We also get some terrific surprises about El, and with each answer comes a whole new bunch of questions. We're given some of each character's backstory in this one, some of what makes them who they are now, which is one of my favorite things about this reverse harem romance. So often, in a love story with this many players, someone gets left out, but the author does a wonderful job of giving us a bit of everyone. Each player is as important to the story as everyone else. We see that a lot in this part of the story, and I enjoyed those quieter, softer moments between the characters. This is a continuing story, so I would definitely recommend starting with book one, and be prepared because Becca Fanning surely knows her business when it comes to cliffhangers. Once again, she's left me with my jaw hanging open and my foot tapping in impatient anticipation of what comes next for these characters.
