The Uprising is a full-length companion novel to The Hunt, a demon paranormal romance serial. It is a direct follow-up to the four books and cannot be read as a standalone.

The gang's all here for The Uprising, and it is absolutely impossible to put down. I loved Malachi in The Hunt series, so I was excited to read his and Ella's story. Plus, we get the added bonus of Moira and Severus along with Cordelia and Alaric, and of course, they're all right in the thick of things as a new big bad hits Farrow's Hollow. The story is fast paced and filled with everything I've come to expect from Liz Meldon and this series. It's wonderfully written and draws you into a world of supernaturals complete with danger and excitement. Add to that Malachi's snark and the love/hate relationship between the chaos demon and Ella, and this one has it all. The Uprising is book 5 in The Hunt series and should not be read as a standalone. It is, however, one more terrific read in a whole series of them, and as a companion novel, it brings everything together perfectly.
