BLURB
Love Most, Say
Least (Marry the Scot, #2)
The boy who has everything meets the girl who has nothing...when she nearly runs him over.
James Fitzroy's life could be called charmed. With an ancient name and a
sprawling country estate, only an arranged marriage stands between him and his
billionaire inheritance. But appearances are rarely what they seem. Traumatised
after a tragic accident, speaking doesn’t come easily to James, and he cares
little for anything, including who he weds.
Until the screech of brakes awakens him to all he can’t have.
Beth Grace might be descended from criminals, but she'd never follow in
their footsteps. Apart from the one time she did. Now, even an invitation to go
driving in Scotland with the world's most handsome man can't derail her from
her plan to pay her dues. Besides, despite the startling chemistry, women like
her don’t get to date earls. She couldn’t be further from what he needs.
Two broken souls can make a whole. There’s just the matter of a wedding
in the way.
Sexy
excerpt
Beth
stilled and regarded me curiously. “Can I ask you a question?”
“Yes.”
“When I first saw you, you know, looking
like you do, I thought you’d be all over the ladies. A real player. But now I
know you better…”
“You know how far from the truth that is,”
I finished her statement. “I’ve never been interested in anyone before.”
“Before me.”
I adjusted her on my lap, and Beth didn’t
take her eyes off mine.
“No one. Ask your question,” I prompted,
knowing exactly what she wanted to hear.
“You’ve never slept with anyone?”
Raising my hand, I traced the outline of
Beth’s lips. My heart hammered, but I wanted her to know this so badly. “The
first person I ever kissed was a few days ago in Castle McRae. This wildly
beautiful woman who drives me crazy and has my heart beating like I’m in a race
for my life. She let me kiss her, even though I behaved horribly, and it was
imperfectly perfect. So no, I’ve never had sex and, yes, you are the one and
only person I’ve ever kissed.”
From the back of the room came a small
blaze of light. Beth’s widened eyes flicked up then back down. “That kiss, by
the fire. The romantic scene when I told you I felt alone.”
“That’s the one.”
She gaped, swaying backwards an inch. “Why
didn’t you tell me? And I was about to drag you to a backroom to jump your bones.
God, James! We can make you losing your virginity so special. Like it should
be. Just think of what we can do!”
