Danger Zone
The Elite, Book 1
By: Brooke Blaine & Ella Frank
Narrated by: Aiden Snow & Christian Fox

They train to serve their country.
They strive to be the best.
But only a select few can be....
The Elite

Mateo Morgan
Call Sign: Solo

Reckless, arrogant, and bold, Solo is as known in the US Navy for his bad-boy reputation as he is for his skills as a fighter pilot. It’s a surprise to his peers, then, when he’s chosen to train and compete at the most prestigious naval aviation academy in the world.

Mission Rules:
1. Kick everyone’s ass.
2. Do whatever it takes to win.
3. Do your best to distract the competition.
4. Especially when that competition is a gorgeous blue-eyed perfectionist who makes your blood run hot.

Grant Hughes
Call Sign: Panther

Disciplined, smart, and confident, Panther can’t afford not to play by the rules. As the son of a top Navy commander, all eyes are on him, and being anything less than number one is unacceptable.

Mission Rules:
1. Keep it safe in the air.
2. Prove you’re more than Commander Hughes’s son.
3. No distractions. Stay focused.
4. Don’t fall for your competition - especially not the rebellious heartbreaker with lips made for sinning.

In the heat of the hot California sun, tempers flare and desires ignite as Solo and Panther try to resist their attraction while fighting to be number one.

With passion this intense, the question remains: Who’s gonna come out on top?

Momma Says: 3 stars⭐⭐⭐

Aiden Snow and Christian Fox - two sexy voices for two sexy alpha males with plenty of attitude. Having heard Aiden Snow, I fully expected that swoony voice, and now that I've heard Christian Fox, I'll be looking for more of his work. These two really brought it and kept me tuned into the story the whole way through. There's a good deal of sexual tension in Danger Zone, and it comes through in the narration.
As far as the storyline goes, I can't say that I disliked it - I really liked Top Gun, and this was a fun bit of back-and-forth banter for most of the book. My problem is that it is so much like the movie that I could almost predict what would be next. There are some differences, but there were too many similarities, in my opinion. So many that it doesn't feel like an original story, just the same story with different characters. Well, different names anyway. There are a lot of familiar characteristics. In fact, I knew going in that this book would be continued, so I expected a cliffhanger, and given the way things were going, I had a pretty good idea of what that cliffhanger would be. I may not have guessed the exact details, but it was pretty darn close.
If you don't mind the similarities, this is a fast-paced story of instant attraction that still comes down to a slow burn as Solo and Panther circle each other.
