Momma Says: 4 out of 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐
High Adventure is well-written in third person POV and fits very well into the Action/Adventure genre with its fast pace and location. I found nothing inappropriate in the book and would think that many teens/young adults would enjoy the pace and adventuresome storyline. Now, for the cover. Isn't that beautiful?
Blurb:
Stranded in British East Africa during the First World War, missionary pilot Jack Benjamin braves crocodile-infested streams, savage warriors, and diabolical deathtraps to rescue his danger-prone fiancée, Amanda Regent, from Imperial German soldiers.
With his modified Avro 504 biplane and his loyal Maasai warrior friend, Mayani, he races to protect the ancient and mysterious Solomon Ring, hidden within a secret chamber of Mount Kilimanjaro. According to legends from the Kikuyu tribe, who have sworn an oath to defend the treasure, the Ring will impart the supernatural wisdom of King Solomon to anyone who wears it. Can Jack arrive in time to save Amanda and stop the Germans from using the Solomon Ring in battle to conquer all of Africa?

High Adventure is a bit out of my wheelhouse with its Indiana Jones style adventure. Don't get me wrong, I saw the movies and enjoyed them. It's just not something I normally read. Nevertheless, I started reading and was quickly caught up in Jack and Amanda's story.
The story starts with our couple facing a lion and then a snake and it doesn't let up from there. (Yep, that's all the spoiler that you're getting from me!) Overall, the story is full of action, adventure, a bit of romance, and lots of animals - it is Africa, after all. So, even though this one was out of the norm for me, it didn't prevent me from enjoying the tale and I have no problem recommending it to anyone who likes the genre.
This is the second book that I've read by Randall Dunn and I've enjoyed them both.
High Adventure is available on Amazon and is listed in Kindle Unlimited.
Thanks for joining me! I think I have a bit of RomCom lined up for my next read.
