✱✱ Book Review ✱✱ Worst Men by Rachel Kane

Today has been one of those "feel-good" days and Worst Men by Rachel Kane fit that perfectly.

Momma Says: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Worst Men is very well written in first person, dual POV with chapters alternating between main characters, Marcus and Sergio. It is an Enemies to Lovers Gay Romance and takes place in the same world as All For Show, but can be read as a standalone. The steam level is high, so I recommend 18+ readers.

They're the best men at the wedding--but the worst enemies!

Sergio comes to a luxurious Sao Marcos resort to be in his best friends' wedding. After a rough breakup, all this wealthy young sculptor wants to do is enjoy some time off, visit with friends, and carve the beautiful ice sculpture he has planned as a wedding gift. He didn't expect that the resort would make him room with his biggest enemy, Marcus. How can he do creative work, if he's trapped in a room with a guy he hates?

Meanwhile Marcus was glad to be invited to his friends' wedding, because things are rough at home now that he's lost his job. He's ready to kick back, relax, and drink something that has a little umbrella in it. He's not ready to be trapped with a stuck-up judgmental "artiste" like Sergio!

They can't be together in the same room for five minutes without fighting. But when Sergio needs help with his ice sculpture, there's only one person around who can save him...Marcus. For Marcus' part, he's shocked to see how intense--and hot--Sergio is when he begins to carve the ice. They're scared to realize a connection is growing between them, one that will force them to drop old grudges and face their feelings.

Can they let bygones be bygones, and allow themselves to fall in love? Or will they go back to being enemies? Will their best friends' wedding end with throwing the bouquet, or throwing punches?

This enemies to lovers romance has a bit more angst than I care for, but the author adds in a bit of humor in just the right spots to break the tension and lighten things up. The attraction between Sergio and Marcus is plain to see, but they do have their obstacles to overcome. Marcus' past being a hot topic in the rumor mill, their financial differences, and Sergio's mistrust of relationships - just to name a few. The story is fast paced and it flows very well as this pair figure each other out and learn to trust in each other. Even with the high angst of this one, the story held my interest with its clever dialogue, bit of humor, and some oh so hot sexy. It's more than just an enemies to lovers romance. It's about learning to accept that special someone for who they are now, faults and all, not who they used to be.

Worst Men is available on Amazon and is listed in Kindle Unlimited.
