✱✱ Book Review ✱✱ Major by Becca Fanning

When I'm in the mood for a shifter tale, I can always count on Becca Fanning to deliver. The newest addition to her MC Bear Mates series, Major, not only delivers, but I think it's my favorite so far.

Can you ever truly leave your past behind you?

The Three Goddesses are fickle with their blessings and curses, and life for Major has been no different. Blessed with experience that comes from age and enough wisdom to know he should be grateful, he's happy to have found his Mate. She is his mate, right? Of course she is, he tells himself. His inner bear remains silent on the matter, not offering any agreement. But just as he's almost convinced himself that this is true love, someone from his past smashes his world to bits. Will he be able to mend his shattered heart? The Goddesses give and take at their whim.

Pip has always known what she was. Runaway. Club bunny. Whore. Different roles she's filled in her life, different masks she's had to wear to survive. Now she was a waitress at one of those old roadside diners that could magically disappear and no one would notice. But she's tough, and even the MC that she left still respects her. They haven't been by to visit in a long time, but that's about to change. Does such a gift ever come without strings attached?

What happens next has the Three Goddesses cackling.

The fifth novel in the MC Bear Mates series is packed full of action, intrigue and the passions that get the better of us.

Momma Says: 5 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This series just gets better and better! Major has been noticeably absent off and on throughout the series with those absences increasing in book four. Now, with this fifth installment, we know why and where he's been. The problem isn't what he's doing, but who it's with. Then he runs into Pip and as is the way with Fanning's bear mates, Major's world is rocked. Pip's gift is the best one yet and certainly comes in handy, but the fact that this pair has a past is the hardest for them to overcome, creating just the right amount of angst for the story.
The book is well-written and engaging enough that I read it in one sitting. Much like the rest of the series, it's full of romance, action, a bit of steamy fun, and some suspense as the Nomads take the war with the cartel to the next level. We also get to revisit past characters to see how they're doing and I have to add that the banter between Christie and Mundo was fantastic!

Major is available for purchase on Amazon.
