About Nancee:
During the day, Nancee works as a counselor/nurse in the field of addiction to support her coffee and reading habit. Nights are spent writing paranormal and contemporary romances with a serrated edge. Authors are her rock stars, and she’s been known to stalk a few for an autograph, but not in a scary, Stephen King way. Her husband swears her To-Be-Read list on her e-reader qualifies her as a certifiable book hoarder. Always looking to try something new, she dreams of being an extra in a Bollywood film, or a tattoo artist. (Her lack of rhythm and artistic ability may put a damper on both of these dreams.)

Nancee's Author Interview

Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
Nancee-
My name is Nancee Cain and I’m a nurse and addiction counselor by day, writer by night. My first books were paranormal romances and dealt with some rather unorthodox angels. Now, I’m working on The Pine Bluff Novels which are contemporary romances. They are stand-alone novels but characters make appearances in subsequent books so you can catch up on your favorites! Pine Bluff is a fictional small town in Alabama where everybody knows your name and your business.

Which writers inspire you?
Nancee-
Too many to name!

What are you currently working on?
Nancee-
The Redemption of Emma Devine releases October 19th! It’s the second Pine Bluff Novel. I’m currently working on Book 4!

Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your most recent book?
Nancee-
Nick Bateman would be perfect as David Patterson and I could see Felicity Jones as Emma Devine.

When did you decide to become a writer?
Nancee-
I’ve written since I can remember. I loved writing really bad, angsty stories in Jr High with the intent of making my friends cry.

Do you write on a typewriter, computer, dictate or longhand?

Nancee-
Computer, I can’t read my own handwriting! And I make too many mistakes for a typewriter. The Delete Key is my friend.

Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer to just see where an idea takes you?
Nancee-
Unfortunately for my editor’s sake, I’m a pantser. After this last book, I’m at least learning to make a timeline!

Do you read much and if so who are your favorite authors?
Nancee-
Not as much as I used to. And again, so many I’d be afraid I’d leave a favorite off. Let’s just say, I’m known for “stalking”--- in a non-creepy manner—some of my favorites.

How do you relax?
Nancee-
I read and write. And I love photography and “cemetery stomping” (genealogy) with my bestie, Carrie.

What is your favorite quote?

Nancee-
Follow your bliss, find where it is, and don't be afraid to follow it.—Joseph Campbell

What is your favorite movie and why?
Nancee-
AmΓ©lie Or Everything is Illuminated. I love quirky movies

What advice would you give to aspiring writers?
Nancee-
Don’t give up. It’s a roller coaster, just hang on and enjoy!

Where can you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
Nancee-
Hopefully retired from the day job!

Where is one place you want to visit that you haven't been before?
Nancee-
Ireland and Italy

What is something you want to accomplish before you die?
Nancee-
Complete the Pine Bluff Series.

What does your writing process look like?
Nancee-
A string of run on sentences full of typos and comma splices!

What do you consider to be your best accomplishment?
Nancee-
Raising a compassionate, funny young woman who is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. My daughter is my pride and joy.

What is your favorite and least favorite part of the publishing / writing process?
Nancee-
My favorite part is working on the edits. Jessica Royer Ocken makes it fun! My least favorite part is the getting everything ready for publication. It’s stressful.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Nancee-
Being a pantser, I tend to do a lot of rewriting.

What book are you reading now?
Nancee-
Cupcakegasm by Rhiannon Jean. It’s hilarious!

What is your favorite theme/genre to write about?
Nancee-
Contemporary Romance. Even my paranormals are contemporary romances.

While you were writing, did you ever feel as if you were one of the characters?
Nancee-
Yes, but don’t tell anyone. I’m sure there’s a mental health diagnosis for this disorder! LOL
