✱✱ Book Review ✱✱ Bubby's Puddle Pond: A Tortuga's Tale of the Desert by Carol Hageman

Tonight's bedtime read with the kiddos was Bubby's Puddle Pond: A Tortuga's Tale of the Desert, written by Carol Hageman and illustrated by Nathaniel Jensen.

Children who learn how to rely on friends and themselves when they’re young grow up to be happier adults. Bubby’s Puddle Pond tells how Bubby, a tortoise in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, moves outside his solitary shoebox into an unfamiliar world, making friends who band together for safety, comfort and companionship. Along the way, Bubby realizes that just as he can trust his friends, he can trust himself, too. First-time author Carol Hageman, draws on her own experience with wildlife and with second-graders, who she tutored in reading and helped them create their own books as a school volunteer.

Bubby's Puddle Pond: A Tortuga's Tale of the Desert is available on Amazon.

Momma Says: 5 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

All it takes is that one book to grab a child's attention and imagination and create a lifetime book lover. For many early readers, Bubby's Puddle Pond could be just that book. It is a fun and entertaining story for beginning readers. With wonderful illustrations and engaging characters, children follow Bubby as he makes friends and ventures out into the world. The lessons learned about friendship and self-reliance, plus the glossary and curriculum guide in the back of the book, makes this one a great addition to a homeschool curriculum.
