“Luca….”
She whispers my name at night, filling my dreams with her haunting beauty.
Her tormented amber eyes beg me for something I don’t understand, and her agonizing pain becomes my own.
For years, she’s come to me, calling my name.
For years, I’ve never known who she was.
Until now….

Momma Says: 3.5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

I've read and enjoyed several books by this author, so I was surprised when it opens with a bit of a supernatural feel to it. Not a bad thing, just not what I expected. As I kept reading, that part begins to make sense and while it's not supernatural, it is eerie. The story is also incredibly dark and emotional, and some scenes are difficult to read. There is romance as Jules tries to understand her reaction to Luca in spite of everything she's told about him. I have to say that the suspense side of this one fell a little short for me as it was pretty easy to figure out what what going on and where it was all headed. There is a big twist, but by that time, I expected that one too. Twists and predictability aside, the story is rather far-fetched, but it still held my interest and kept me turning pages - not only to verify that I had it figured out, but also to see how everything came together and whether the characters would get some closure in the end. All in all, Alex Grayson gives us a tale that is a lot dark and twisted with a side of sexy romance.

About Alex
Alex Grayson is the bestselling author of heart pounding, emotionally gripping contemporary romance including The Jaded Series, The Consumed Series, and two standalone novels. Her passion for books was reignited by a gift from her sister-in-law intended to distract Alex and help her pass the time while her husband was away for work. After spending several years as a devoted reader and blogger, Alex decided to write and independently publish her first novel in 2014 (an endeavor that took a little longer than expected). The rest, as they say, is history.
Originally a southern girl, Alex now lives in Ohio with her husband, two children, two cats and dog. She loves the color blue, homemade lasagna, casually browsing real estate, and interacting with her readers. Visit her website, www.alexgraysonbooks.com, or find her on social media!
