Running into an ex you haven’t seen in nearly a decade is never a good
time.
Running into your ex while he’s arresting you is humiliating.
The handcuffs close around my fists at the same time he promises to
hate me until he takes his last breath.
I can’t blame him. He pleaded for me not to walk away. He doesn’t know leaving him broke my heart as
much as it did his.
It wasn’t for me. Rather, it was for someone else.
Gage
I skipped town after Hurricane Lauren obliterated my heart.
Coming home was a hard choice to make. Arresting her isn’t.
She has no idea of the demons I carry with me now. No idea that I’m a
new man.
Two women ruined me.
One I gave my heart to.
The other punished me for it.

It doesn't get much more emotional than Just Exes. At the core, it is a second chance romance, but there's so much more to it than that. Once again, Charity Ferrell has pulled out all the stops with the feels. Parts of this one were absolutely heartbreaking, but that heartbreak is tempered with moments of levity and witty dialogue between characters.
While Dallas and Willow's story in Just One Night remains my favorite in this series, all three books are packed full of emotion, wit, and characters that practically leap off the page. Each can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading them in order to fully experience the many wonderful characters of Blue Beech.

Just Her Bodyguard is an engaging and witty romance. It's a little more drawn out than I felt like it needed to be, but Stella and Hudson are good together. We get a good mix of sweet and sexy with some fun banter along the way. The story does get a bit angsty with a lot of push and pull, especially on Hudson's part, but given his circumstances, it's understandable. That angst is also balanced out with so many lighter moments. The thing that impressed me most with this one was the character development and storyline. Not just for Stella and Hudson, but for the secondary characters as well. They're all interesting and lifelike with their different personalities, and the dialogue and interactions between them keep the story moving at a good pace. There are a couple of chapters toward the end that I felt like were more to set up the next book in the series than for any development between this pair, but that aside, I did enjoy the read.

All. The. Feels. The emotions run the gamut in this one, and the wonderful writing made me feel each and every one. Willow and Dallas had me swooning or laughing one minute and crying great big tears the next. Their love story is a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, push and pull, and there were times I wanted to hug one or both of them and just as many times that I wanted to shake them until their teeth rattled. When a book can make me feel as much as this one did plus keeping me awake until the wee hours because I have to see how it all comes out, the author has done her job and done it well. Just One Night is the perfect blend of romance, angst, and wit, and it's one that I can easily recommend.
