The Knights Club (formerly the Gentleman’s Club) first appeared in the Warfield Hotel Mysteries Series. It was owned by Stony Whitecastle and is located in Atlanta, GA. At the beginning of the Knights Club/Starting Over, Stony is selling the club to Xavier Knight. He renames the club the Knights Club and instead of a private club opens it the public. Some patrons still hold membership though.
This series involves Xavier and his crew of employees and their involvement with a local police family. We meet Sebastian Brady in Starting Over along with his dysfunctional family. Seb’s struggle with his homophobic oldest brother and the shadow of his dead father, Detective Delmonico Brady, haunts Seb as he tries to make a new life for himself.
Occasionally, a character from the Warfield Hotel series will pop up but they are not central to the story line. Everyone who works at the Knights Club has a past and secret they are running from. They are mixed bag of people who have been suffered many things. The Knights Club is their home and the people who work there are their families. But, even families don’t like each other all the time…
Finding Forgiveness - OUT FEB 6
Xavier Knight lied and now his past was catching up to him. Sebastian Brady meant everything to him. Losing him wasn’t an option Xavier was ready to accept. Ghosts from his past threaten to open up a secret that needs to stay hidden. He wasn’t going to let Zach Brady or anyone else take his happiness away from him.
Zachary Brady had lived in the shadow of his father his entire life. He’d lost his family, his job—everything. What happened between him and Xavier Knight was long ago and best forgotten. He wasn’t going to allow it to sabotage his chance to be accepted by his brothers and sister as family again.
Neither man realizes that they don’t hold the key to their peace of mind. And when the truth is revealed, it will shake their worlds. Family isn’t always the one you are born into, sometimes it’s the one you create for yourself.
Momma Says: 3.5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐
This one took some unexpected turns for me, and I'm still trying to decide how some of those turns sit with me. From what I learned in the last book, I expected the connection between Zach and Xavier, but there were other things that I didn't expect. I did enjoy the story, but there was one aspect involving Phillip that bothered me. I know what I thought was going to happen, or maybe how I hoped that part would play out, but the lack of an answer was a little disturbing given the relationship Phillip is in. I did like the mystery concerning Phillip's mother and while I guessed pretty early about that, it was interesting to see how it worked out. In the end, this fifth Knight's Club book may not be my favorite in the series, but it is certainly worth the read.
Coming Out
Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐
This fourth book in The Knight's Club series really ramps up the volume on intrigue and action. Phillip has seen plenty of trouble because of his gambling, but he's in over his head this time, which puts him in close quarters with Malachi. I'm not sure the title quite fits this one; it's more a gay for you story with Malachi and Phillip. Whatever the trope, this pair does make for some super steamy fun along with some edge of your seat action when Phillip finds himself at the center of an underground gambling syndicate. On top of that, another Brady sibling is back and not everyone is happy about it. While the author does give us some smiles and happy sighs for our romance, there are some unanswered questions in the end, which I'm assuming will be addressed in the next book because I'm dying to know what's up with Xavier.
Learning Trust
Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐
In all honesty, I didn't like Rio much in the earlier books, and I wasn't sure anyone could melt the contrary Rio's heart, much less a police officer, but he and Steve are just so good together. In fact, Rio has won me over completely now that I see the other side of that anger he wore like shield. Learning Trust is a relatively quick read, but what it lacks in pages, it makes up for in story. We also get a bit of danger and action along with the steam generated by Rio and Steve. This third book in the series picks up where the last book left off, and there are a couple of continuing storylines going on, so I would recommend reading the series in order to get all the goods on these wonderful characters. There's also a couple of things going on at the conclusion that has me worried for one couple and curious about a couple of other characters. All in all, Rio and Steve's story is a great addition to the Knight's Club family, and I can't wait to see what's next.
Letting Go
Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is part of a series and Letting Go continues from events in the first book. It can be read as a standalone, but there are things mentioned from the first book and you won't want to miss Xavier and Seb's May/Dec romance. There are so many terrific characters in this series, and I'll be watching for the contrary Rio's story.
Starting Over
Starting Over is fast-paced, witty, and entertaining. And for an added bonus, we get a silver fox in a May/December romance. This first book introduces us to some of the characters in The Knights Club series and while there are several, it's not overwhelming. Each character is distinctive and has their own personality. The focus is on Seb and Xavier, and they are adorable together. The angst level is pretty low with most of it coming from Seb's family, and problems are resolved quickly, at least on the surface. To sum it up, this one is a good start to what looks to be an entertaining series with an engaging group of characters.
The dream of writing her own stories started in high school but was left on the back burner of life until her son introduced her to fan fiction and encouraged her to give it a try. She found that her passion for telling a story was still there and writing them down to share with others was much more thrilling than she had ever expected.
She has a loving and supportive family who don't mind fixing their own meals when she is in the middle of a story, and a network of friends who have encouraged and cheered her on in her quest of being an author.
One thing she has learned from life and she is often heard to say is: “You are never too old to follow your dream!”
