Contemporary Romance
A
year after their divorce, Vivi and Miguel are forced to work together
to save the Durango Street Theatre, and learn they might really love
each other after all.
EXES
AND OHS
The
marriage was one of convenience. She had status and he had money.
But... there was something there, and both of them felt it. After
three years of him working long hours and her spending too much time
at the Durango Street Theatre, Miguel Abonce and Vivienne Heiser
called it quits. One year later, they are forced to work together to
save or sell the theater. In the process they discover things they
never knew about each other and they learn there's more between them
than burning up the sheets. They might really love each other after
all.
She waited until the doors closed behind the Foster entourage before she rounded on Miguel. “Why in the hell did you run him off?” Miguel snarled, beating her to the punch. “You made me look like an idiot in front of him.”
“Mostly because you are an idiot. A big one. Bringing in somebody to look at the place behind my back, knowing I’m not selling. Which is why in the hell I ran him off. How dare you, barrio boy? What makes you think you have the right to bring some asshole potential buyer through here on opening night, trying to sell the theater out from under us all?”
“I have every right. I own half the damn place and I have every damned right to parade them down the aisle five minutes before curtain if I feel like it. Get your head out of the clouds, Vivienne. The fucking theater’s going away after this damned farce is over and you and your theater pals need to get used to it.”
“You don’t own the theater yet and you don’t have the right to parade people through here trying to sell it. And you won’t ever have that right. Not if I don’t sign those papers, asshole. I’ll never sign the son of a bitchin’ things, you can take it to the bank. Damn, you, Miguel. We’ve worked our butts off for weeks on ‘Anything Goes’ and you bring those assholes in two hours before curtain and ruin everything for us.” Vivienne cursed the tears that spilled out of her eyes. “You’re a shit-face of the highest order.” She grabbed a brush out of her duffle and threw it at him, hitting him squarely in the face. “Damn you to hell, Miguel Torres Abonce.”
