Can't Touch
by Chara Croft

I lucked into the perfect roommate this year: pretty to look at, eager to please, happy to do any and every damn thing I want, sometimes even before I know I want it. And even though I'm here on a football scholarship, not some kind of brainiac academic one like he is, I'm still smart enough to know I shouldn't mess with a good thing.

It's why I gave myself one rule: hands off pretty little Sean Cabot.

I mean, shouldn't be too hard, right? There are plenty of other willing twinks available to keep me happy this year, so there's no need to obsess about the only one I told myself I can't touch...

CAN'T TOUCH is a 54,000 word gay college romance between a cocky jock and the sweet, sheltered boy who just wants to be good for him. Read it if you like bossy jocks, boys who like it that way, unapologetic power imbalances, and a hefty dose of praise kink. Pass if that's not your jam or you're looking for something deep, dark, or angsty.

Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

A jock and a brain share an apartment. Nope, this is not the start of a bad joke. It is the start of a hot male/male romance with a bit of D/s, a few fanny smacks, and more steamy fun than you can shake a stick at. Tyson is all frat guy, alpha male jock, and he has more arrogance than is necessarily good for him, or so it seems at the beginning, and poor Sean is so timid and so determined to please that they sort of fall into a Dom/sub relationship. But if that's not your thing, don't worry, it's D/s lite. In fact, most of the story is lighthearted and fun, with the exception of one scene early in the book. I won't go into details, but abuse is described - not on page abuse, but described as in one character explains a past abuse and its long term affect. It's rather detailed and absolutely heartbreaking, so heed the author's trigger warning. The story is a quick read, and things appear to progress rapidly between these two, but they've already known each other for several months at the start of the book, so it's not as fast as it seems. One of my favorite things about this one is Tyson's change. Well, maybe it's not exactly a change, more like showing a different, deeper part of himself which allows Sean to be a little more assertive about what he wants and needs. I know the blurb mentions praise kink, but given Sean's past, I don't think he could get too much praise, and Tyson, for all his cockiness, is just what Sean needs. I also loved the conclusion, which was just right for these guys.
