Ah, Alex and Carrie! I liked Alex in the first book in this series, and I like him even more now. He and Carrie have a good connection and the romance kind of sneaks up on them. This isn't the hit you in the face with it fated mates type of love story, but it is a fierce connection between this couple. There is a continuing story of political problems within the Forest, but this one still works as a standalone, and Becca Fanning gives us everything we need to understand what's going on with the characters. Alex and Carrie also face some danger, and the relationship angst is heartbreaking in this one. Nevertheless, Fanning pulls it off and we get another engaging couple in this series. I can't wait to see which one of these bears gets bitten by the love bug next.
