Us After You was a bit of a struggle for me in the beginning with the jump back in time. but once I got a feel for the characters, things smoothed out, at least as far as the reading perspective. I can't say the same for the emotional rollercoaster in this story. Parts were absolutely heartbreaking, but I've come to expect that with this author. You just do not go into a Claudia Burgoa story and expect little emotions. It just doesn't happen. Of course, that doesn't just apply to the heartbreaking parts of the story. The good stuff is done just as well. I will say that some of my struggle with this one was personal as it brought up some hard memories, but it also got me looking back at some good memories too, and it turned out to be a good thing for me. As for this particular story, this couple wormed their way into my heart and I couldn't help but root for them. This one is a great story of love and loss and learning to move on. The story is well written, the characters are engaging, and once Us After You got me in its grips, I couldn't put it down.
