Late At Night
by Anastacia K.

A woman trapped in a loveless marriage, harboring a secret about her past.

A wounded man battling his own demons, looking for love in all the wrong places.

A story about innocence, deceit and redemption. A second-chance romance bound to steal your heart.

Anne Martin never thought she'd meet her high-school crush again. He had stolen her heart, took what he wanted and she never heard from him again. Until now. Almost eighteen years later, he is standing on her doorstep looking like sin itself, asking to undo what's already done.

Jack Miller's tumultuous life leaves a lot to be desired. A wounded U.S. Air Force Combat Rescue Officer, Jack carries his own demons, lurking deep in his weary soul. A chance encounter with the woman he has hurt the most brings back unforgettable memories and a longing to make things right.

Momma Says: 3 stars⭐⭐⭐

Late at Night is a very quick read, like around 30 minutes quick. It is an interesting 30 minutes, but the problem with that is almost anything I say could potentially be spoiler-ish. So, I'm going to try to keep it as spoiler-free as possible. Basically, this is a quick look at Jack and Anne and their second chance as a couple. We get very little about what happened the first time around, but it is enough to get the gist of it all. I won't pretend to agree with the choices these two make, but it does make for interesting reading. This story is a good length for an afternoon break or just before bedtime, and while I prefer a little more - well, just more, those who prefer short stories should enjoy this one.
