I saw him first.
But it didn’t matter.
Because he saw her.

He was my best friend, and I was his.
We couldn't be together, but we couldn't stand to be apart.

And if you're not truly lovers...but you're so much more than friends...what exactly are you?

Momma Says: 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A Love Letter to Whiskey has been on my radar since its release, but with crazy schedules, life in general, and times when angsty wasn't the best idea for me, I hadn't had the pleasure of sitting down and reading it. And after listening to the Fifth Anniversary Edition, pleasure is no exaggeration. Don't get me wrong, this story is emotional, heartbreaking, and even frustrating at times with B and Jamie missing the mark so many times. It's truly a case of right love, wrong time. But as much as this story twisted me up inside, it was impossible to put down - or pause as the case may be. The book is wonderfully written and thoroughly compelling. Jamie and B certainly don't always make the best decisions - certainly not the most moral decisions - but even when I was irritated with their actions, I still wanted them together. It's like a magnetic pull between them that can't be ignored. We get 3 narrators for this anniversary edition, and they all do a top-notch job with B and Jamie's journey, and it is a journey. Once again, I didn't have the pleasure of reading the original book, but now that I've met these characters, I'm kind of glad I waited because Jamie's story was something I would've wanted. With that in mind, I'd say this book is a must-read for any romance reader or listener, and that includes those who've already read the book as it was on release day.
