✱✱Book Review✱✱ Dark Exodus by Lydia Michaels

From bestselling author, Lydia Michaels, comes another darkly compelling, heart pounding, paranormal, vampire romance!

Larissa Hostetler is on the run after an arranged marriage to Silus, her abusive, immortal husband. As Silus hunts his disobedient wife, he plots her painful atonement. But Bishop King, the most powerful and eldest immortal in The Order, finds Larissa first, and he has plans of his own.

A deadly vampire is slaughtering mortal women in the woods, drawing unwanted attention from the media that threatens to expose their species. The Council is hard pressed to hunt and destroy the creature, but other upheaval is at play.

Immortals on the farm are keeping secrets. Vows will be broken and lives eternally changed as appetites for vengeance grow.

Nothing is as it seems when an immortal seeks revenge…

Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lots going on in Dark Exodus - lots and lots going on, and the blurb is just the tip of the iceberg. To be honest, I wasn't sure how I felt about Adam and Anna in Original Sin. Well, I wasn't sure how I felt about Adam. Without getting too far into it, I'll just say Lydia Michaels' storytelling won me over, and I wanted to know more about the characters that make up this series. And here's where I'll add that you really do need to read the books of this series in order.
This second in the series hits the ground running and doesn't let up. We have three storylines running, and they all intertwine more and more as the story progresses. There are also some branches shooting off here and there, but they all come back to the central theme of the story. So far, Eleazer is my favorite character in the story - I'm really hoping that something he does in this one doesn't come back to bite him, but I'm not holding my breath. That said, I'm thinking Cain is going to be a very close second by the time I get through his book.
I realize I've been vague, but too much about any one thing would venture into spoiler territory, and I don't want to do that. I will add that this one closes on a pretty big cliffy, and I'm pretty impatient to see where that goes. As for this book, we get Lydia Michaels' descriptive writing, wonderful storytelling, and fascinating characters. The story is well-paced and full of fated mates romance, a bit of danger, and of course, some steamy goodness. This series turned out to be a bit different from what I expected from a vampire romance, but that's turned out to be a good thing.
