A First Time for Pete
Sanderson Brothers Book 3
A Gay Family Romance Series
by Declan Rhodes
Honorary Sanderson brother, Pete Larson, can count the number of men who've made him feel something--down there--on one hand. Now, the first one who made him feel that way, top-flight jazz trumpeter Logan Weber, is back in town, and Pete can't get him out of his mind. Logan is into Pete, too, but neither one has a place in their lives for romance.
Pete Larson is the guy that everybody likes, but he's never found love--and he's never tried to find it with a man. The peak moment of his life came when he pitched a no-hitter in Little League baseball. As Ike Sanderson's best friend, he's welcomed into the Sanderson clan, and when he's overwhelmed by the reappearance in Lincolnport of a high school bandmate, Pete turns to the Sandersons for help.
Trumpeter Logan Weber grew up in Lincolnport but headed to New York to attend the Juilliard School after graduation. From there, he moved to Los Angeles and become one of the most respected jazz trumpet players. When he finally returns to Lincolnport, almost 10 years after graduation, he meets Pete, and he can't look away.
A First Time for Pete is a 57,000-word first time gay romance with strong family relationship themes. This is the third book in the Sanderson Brothers series following A Song for Noah and A Man for Jared. All of the books can be read as standalone stories, but they are best read as a continuing series about the Sanderson family.

Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐
Book 3 in the Sanderson Brothers series brings us Pete and Logan's story along with plenty of page time for the rest of the family and friends of the family. This one is a little more on the angsty side than the first two books in the series, and to be honest, I wasn't crazy about what brought about that angst. Nevertheless, I did like Pete and Logan as well as the secondary characters, and Pete is such a sweetheart as he figures things out that it's practically a given to want to root for his happy ever after. And whether I cared for the misunderstanding/miscommunication angle used for the angst in the romance, the story really comes down to Pete figuring out who he is and he and Logan learning what they as well as each other needs in a relationship. All in all, A First Time for Pete is another engaging and entertaining romance in the series. I don't know if more books are planned, but I do know I'd definitely like more of the many characters that make up the characters of the Sanderson and Sanderson adjacent family.
